No, In Sanskrit, each syllable makes a lot of difference. "Budha" meaning wise, intelligent is the name of the planet Mercury, known to bestow mercurial intelligence. "Buddha" meaning enlightened, awakened is the title given to Siddhartha, founder of Buddhism.
