Following are the most auspicious holy bathing dates at the Kumbh Mela 2010. Kumbha Mela or Kumbhmela is one of the most important and sacred Hindu pilgrimage season and this year the Kumbh Mela festival is held at Haridwar in Uttar Pradesh. The main bathing dates are on 14th January 2010, 12 February 2010, 13th February 2010, 15th March 2010 and 14th April 2010. On these dates, a colorful procession of saints on chariots and elephants at sunrise attracts visitors. The saints take dip at holy Ganges according to their tradition and rituals. Then the public are allowed to take dip at holy Ganges to wash away their sins.

It is said that the no moon day on a Monday is a significant event that the river Ganga showers special blessings on those who performs worship or meditation on this day. Observance of vow of silence and a holy dip in the sacred waters confers the person with the equivalent effect of giving a thousand cows in donation.

This full moon day is the last auspicious bathing date of the Kumbh festival and signifies the three major events in Lord Buddha's life, namely, His birth, enlightenment and death. Satyanarayana Swamy Vratam and Vishnu Pujas are other rituals done on this day.
