2024 Maha Shivaratri Date is 8 March

The date of Maha Shivaratri Festival in 2024 is 8 March, Friday. Mahashivaratri, also spelled Maha Shivratri, Shivratri or Sivarathri is a famous Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Shiva – one of the Trimurti in the Hindu Trinity. The festival is celebrated annually on the month of Maagha or Phalguna in the Hindu calendar.

  1. I must say I feel many emotions in anticipation of this year's Maha Shivaratri. See, it wasn't until last March 4, 2011 that I ever heard the word. Surprising, because I have had some course work about India.
    Last March 3 I had some very unbelievable events occur...I would describe them as "other wordly".. I could feel the presence of good and evil.. The power was so strong the air was actually expanding and contracting in the home I was in. Sometimes you could walk out the front door, sometimes you could not. It was sucked in or sucked out. I would have lunch then on March 4 with a friend to explain these events. Her jaw dropped as she then explained the day and its significance. I do not no what to expect this time.
