Jakhu Temple of Hanuman at Jakhoo Hill Shimla

Jakhu Temple at Jakhoo Hill is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman located  in Shimla at a height of 8000 feet above sea level. There are different facilities available to reach the temple top. One can walk, use taxi service or can go through cable car. The place gives a panoramic view of the beauty of nature. The temple is famous for its huge Hanuman statue which is considered as one of the world's tallest Hanuman statue.

The legend of the temple says that according to the Hindu epic Ramayana Lord Hanuman stopped at this place to rest while he was on his way searching for Sanjivni to regain life of Laxman.
