Ambalapuzha Temple Arattu Festival

Ambalapuzha Arattu is the main Kerala temple festival celebrated at the famous Sri Krishna Swamy Temple at Ambalapuzha, in Alappuzha District of Kerala, south India. Ambalapuzha Temple Arattu festival is celebrated for 10 days in the Meenam Malayalam month. The arattu is held on the 10 day of the festival, on the Thiruonam Nakshatram. 

About Ambalapuzha Krishna Temple

Sree Krishna Temple at Ambalappuzha is one of the main Lord Krishna temples in Kerala. The temple enshrines Ambalappuzha Unnikannan – the baby form of Lord Krishna. The temple is famous for Ambalapuzha Palpayasam - a divine prasadam of delicious sweet milk porridge.

How to reach Ambalapuzha Temple

Ambalapuzha Sree Krishna Swami Temple is situated on the National Highway 47 (NH 47), 14 km south of Alappuzha, in Kerala. The temple is 108 km from Ernakulam (Kochi) and 120 km from Thiruvananthapuram – the state capital.

Alappuzha Railway Station is the nearest railway station to reach Ambalapuzha Temple.
