Mahalakshmi Vrata Puja 2021

Mahalakshmi Vrata or Mahalakshmi Pooja, dedicated to Goddess Maha Lakshmi, is different from Varalakshmi Vrata. Goddess Mahalakshmi is the Hindu Goddess of wealth, prosperity, light, wisdom, fortune, fertility, generosity and courage (these eight forms of the Goddess are known as Ashtalakshmis).

Observed for 16 consecutive days, the Mahalakshmi Vratam commences on Bhadrapad Shukla Ashtami and ends on Ashwin Krishna Ashtami, according to the North Indian calendar. This corresponds to the September - October month of the Gregorian calendar. Mahalaxmi Vrat Pooja is observed mostly in North Indian states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

In 2021, the Mahalakshmi Vrata Puja begins on 13 September and concludes on 28 September 2021.
