Chardham Yatra in Himalayas is the pilgrimage to the four holiest shrines in India – the Badrinath Temple of Lord Vishnu, Kedarnath Temple of Lord Shiva, Gangotri Temple, and Yamunotri Temple. All these four Char Dham Temples situated on the Himalayan region of Garhwal (Uttrakhand) opens only for 6 months in a year from April-May to October-November. This is due to heavy snowfall and harsh winter during the other months of the year.
Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN) conducts spiritual tour during the Chardham Yatra season. There will be helicopter services from Agastyamuni to Kedarnath shrine and Badrinath shrine.
