Gangotri Temple Opens for Chardham Yatra

The opening date of Gangotri Temple for Chardham Yatra on  Akshaya Tritiya festival day. Gangotri Temple, dedicated to Goddess Ganga, is one of the four Char Dham Temples in Uttarakhand, India. The other three Chardham temples in the religious pilgrimage are the Badrinath Temple of Badrinarayan, Kedarnath Temple of Lord Shiva, and Yamunotri Temple of Goddess Yamuna. The Chardham temples will open for only 6 months in a year – usually from April/May to October/November.
