The annual Brahmotsavam Festival 2013 at Varadharaja Temple in Kanchipuram is celebrated on the Tamil month of Vaikasi (May – June). Also known as Hastagiri, Varadharaja Perumal Temple is one of the 108 Divya Desams of Lord Vishnu. Varadaraja Temple is situated 3 km from the Kanchipuram Bus Stand.
Important Events
Garuda Seva on 3rd day and Rathotsavam (Car Festival) on 7th day are the important dates of Brahmotsavam Festival at Varadharaja Temple. The date of Gaduda Seva festival is on 24th May 2013. While Car Festival will be held on 28th May 2013.
During Garuda Seva ritual, Varadharaja Perumal rides atop at Garuda Vahanam to give darshan to devotees. Rathotsavam of Mahavishnu is the pulling of the cart of Varadharaja Perumal by devotees.
