Ek Mukhi Datta Temple in Narayanpur, Pune is an ancient temple of Lord Dattatreya. The unique feature of Narayanpur Datta Temple is that usually Lord Datta is depicted with three faces. However in Narayanpur Ek Mukhi Datta Temple, we can worship Lord Dattatreya in single face. The god is depicted with six arms holding Dhamaru (holy musical instrument), Shakha (conch), Chakra (a holy weapon), Rudraksha Mala, Kamandalu (holy pot), Kaumodaki Gada (mace) and one hand in Abhaya Mudra.

Devotees can see the Padukas or footwear of Lord Datta in the temple. It is believed that Lord Datta himself placed in the sanctum before he left for Samadhi. Thursdays or Guruvar is considered an important date to worship Lord Dattatreya. People take Guruvar vrat on these days.

How to Reach

Regular buses are available from Swargate PMT and ST Stand to Saswad. The temple can be reached either from Dive Ghat and Saswad or from Katraj Ghat and Satara Road. Narayanpur is located at the bottom of famous Purandar Fort.
