Gangeshwar Temple Diu India

Gangeshwar Temple in Diu India is a very ancient Lord Shiva temple located at Fudam village just 3 km from Diu. The temple enshrines five Shiva Lingas of different sizes amidst rocks on the seashore. The Shivlings are washed by the tidal waves of the sea. Lord Shiva is worshipped here as Gangeshwar Mahadev.

The 5 Shiv Lingas are installed by the Pandavas during their exile to worshipping Mahadev. It is believed that there was earlier a Cave Temple built at the bottom of the cliff and entrance being sea facing. Over the centuries, the cliff has deteriorated are currently only the Shivling are the remains.

The Shiva Lingas of Gangeshwar Temple washed by the waves continuously gives a mystic aura for the devotees and visitors.
