Sandhya Argh is observed on the third day of Chhath Puja Festival. On this day evening, devotees offer ‘Argh’ and ‘soop’ at the ghat of riverbank or seashore to the setting Sun God or Lord Surya. The Argh and soop offering consist of sprouted grains fruits, sweets, fruits, flowers, dry coconut, khajurees and sugarcane. After Sanjhiya Arghya, ladies wear turmeric color single saree.
A lively event of Kosi is celebrated at the night of Chhath by lighting lamps of clay diyas. This puja is conducted in a special area cordoned off by five sugarcane sticks. The 5 sugarcane sticks represents the Panchatattva of human body (earth, water, fire, air and ether). This year Chhat Dala Evening puja (Sandhya Argh) is on 10 November 2021.
