Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swami Temple Annavaram

Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swami Temple, popularly known as Annavaram Temple, is located on the banks of the Pampa River in Annavaram village, East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, India. The temple considered as second only to Tirupati Venketeswara Temple is situated upon the Ratnagiri Hills and can be reached via Ghat road or trekking through a stone path. The shrine is dedicated to Lord Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy and Goddess Anantalaxmi Satyavathi Ammavaru.

According to ancient scriptures, the presiding deity of Annavaram Temple blesses the devotees with Anina Varam (Wanted Boon). That is the deity will endow one with whatever one desires. Important shrines inside the temple complex are the main temple of Sree Veera Venkata Satyanaryana Swamy on the Ratnagiri Hill, Sri Sita Rama as Keshatra Palakulu, and the shrines of Goddess Vana Durga and Kanaka Durga.   The temple of Gramadevatha (Village deity) is located at the foot of the hill.

Festivals

Sri Swamyvari Kalyana Mahotsavam and Sri Swamivari Jayanti are the major festivals celebrated in the temple. Devi Navratri, Swayamvara Vardhanti of Sraavana Suddha Ekadashi Day, Srirama Kalyana, Teppa Utsavam, Kanakadurga Yatra, Jalatoranam and Prabha Utsavam are other important festival dates of Annavaram Temple.

Temple Timings

Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swami Temple opens at 3:30 AM for Swamy Vari Suprabhata Seva and the temple closes at 9:00 PM after Ammavarla Ekanta Seva. Swamy Vari Sarva Darshanam timings are from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

Devotees can perform Abhishekams in Yantralayam after taking tickets from the temple office.

Location 

Annavaram Temple is 80 km from Rajahmundry, 125 km from Visakhapatnam, and 40 km from Kakinada. NH 5 passes through Annavaram. Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation runs every half an hour bus services via Annavaram from Rajahmundry to Visakhapatnam and vice versa.

Annavaram Railway Station is around 4 km from the temple. The railway station is on the Chennai – Howrah (Kolkata) railway line.

Rajahmundry Airport and Visakhapatnam Airport are the nearest airports to reach temple.
