Bhuleshwar Temple is an ancient Shiva shrine located on the Pune - Solapur Highway in Yawat (Yavat), Maharashtra. The temple constructed in the 13th century has been declared as a protected monument. The temple, built during the era of Pandavas, features beautiful carvings on the walls and is visited by devotees as well as travelers. Bhuleshwar Shiva Temple is around 45 km from Pune and 10 km from Yawat.
According to Hindu scriptures, Bhuleshwar is the place where Goddess Parvati Devi danced for Lord Shiva before they went to Kailas and get married. The temple is also noted for the idol of Lord Ganesha in female attire. The idol is known as Ganeshwari or Lambodari or Ganeshyani. During Maha Shivaratri and Shrawan month the temple attracts thousands of devotees.
Bhuleshwar was originally a fort known as Daulatmangal fort or Mangalgadh. The temple was built during the reign of Yadava dynasty.
