Chaturshringi Temple Pune Maharashtra

Chaturshringi Temple in Pune is one of the famous places of worship located in Maharashtra, India. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Chaturshringi also known as Goddess Ambareshwari – considered as the presiding deity of Pune city. The temple was constructed during the reign of the Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Chaturshringi Temple is located on Senapati Bapat Road.

Chaturshringi is a mountain with four peaks; Chatur literally means four in Hindi. The temple located on the slope of a hill can be reached by climbing more than 100 steps.  The temple has separate shrines of Goddess Durga, Lakshmi, Lord Vishnu and eight miniature idols of Ashtavinayak Ganesha. These small temples are on four separate hillocks.

Navratri is the most important festival celebrated in the temple. During the occasion, a fair is organized and the entire temple is decorated with lambs. Deepavali, Tripuri Poornima, Chaitra Padwa, Holi, and Ganesh Chaturthi are other important Hindu festivals celebratedat the temple.
