Kukdeshwar Temple Pur Village Pune

Kukdeshwar Temple is an ancient temple of Lord Shiva located in Pur village in Pune District of Maharashtra, India. The temple situated on the banks of Kukdi River is about 15 km west of Junnar and the nearest main town is Narayangaon. This 12th century Shiv temple is on the banks of Kukdi River.

Kukdeshwar Temple, dating back to 12th century, is well known for its beautiful sculptures and carvings inside and on the outer walls. The temple is constructed in Hemadpanthi style of architecture. Currently the roof of this temple is in a dilapidated state and the state department of archaeology is conducting some restoration and reconstruction works.

Chavand Fort, also known as Prasannagad, is located just 3 km from Kukdeshwar Shiva Temple.

Kukdeshwar Temple is 100 km from Pune and can be accessed on the Pune - Nashik Highway route.
