Karivalamkulam Nataraja Temple Thiruvathira Pooja

Karivalamkulam Tiruvathira Pooja is performed on the Thiruvathira nakshatra of every month. Hundreds of people from Tamil Nadu and Kerala visit the shrine to perform the pray and get blessings of Shiva. The pooja which starts on 11 AM in the morning extends till 5:00 PM. Abhishekam to Nataraja is performed with various abhishek materials such as Honey, Ghee, Milk, Curd, Bhasma, Panchamrutham, Rice Powder, Tender coconut water and Cooked Rice (Annam).

Pushpabhishekam is performed in the afternoon, followed by Deeparadhana which marks the conclusion of the monthly Thiruvathira Pooja. The uniqueness of Deepa aradhana is that Musical Deeparadhana is performed where the priest moves the deepam according to the rhythm of the music played.
