Sree Chakrathil Shiva Temple in Thrikkannapuram is a small ancient Hindu temple located in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala. The temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is located on the banks of Karamana river in a beautiful locale. According to local people the place Thrikkannapuram / Trikkannapuram got its named after the deity. Thrikkannapuram is a combination of two words “Thrikkannu” which means “Three-eyed” and “Puram” which means “place” and hence the locality is known as place of Three-eyed God – Lord Mahadev.
The Sreekovil of Sree Chakrathil Temple is round-shaped and designed in traditional Kerala architecture. Lord Shiva is worshiped in Shivalinga form. The shrine of Goddess Parvati is on the left side of the Sreekovil. There is a separate shrine for Lord Ganapathi. Idols of Nagaraja and Nagarani are installed outside the Srikovil.
