Thiruvithukodu Anjumurthy Temple near Pattambi Kerala

Thiruvithukodu Anjumurthy Temple is located about 2 km from Pattambi near Shoranur, Kerala. The uniqueness of the temple is that the temple is one of the 108 Shiva Temples as well as one of the 108 Divya Desams of Vishnu. Lord Shiva is enshrined facing the east and Lord Vishnu on the other side facing west. Other deities worshipped here are Abhaya Pradhan, Abath Sagayar and Goddess Vithuvakottu Valli and Padma Pani Nachiyar. The temple is also known by the names Thirivichikodu Temple, Thirumittakode Anjumoorthy Temple, Thiruvinchi Kodu and Anjumoorthi Temple.

Significance of Thiruvithukodu Anjumurthy Temple

According to legends, it is believed that King Ambarisha, the son of Nabhaga, attained moksha or salvation at Thirumittakode Temple. It is believed that the four idols of the temple are installed by the Pandavas during their stay near Bharathapuzha. While the Shiva idol of Thirivichikodu Temple was installed by Lord Parasurama.
