Thirupuraikkal Temple or Vadakkanthara Bhagavathy Temple is a highly revered goddess temple located at Vadakkanthara in Palakkad district of Kerala. The temple is also known by the names Thriupurackal Bhagavathy Temple and Sri Kachanam Kulam Thirupuraikkal Bhagawathy Temple. The primary deity worshipped here is Goddess Kannaki Amman in Parvathi form. This is only temple in Kerala, where Goddess Kannaki is worshipped in her full idol form and divine glory.
Vadakkanthara Vela is the most important festival celebrated at the temple in the month of Kumbam (February-March). The festival attracts people from all over Palakkad. Another significant festival is the Navarathri festival. During this nine days festival, many famous carnatic singers visit the shrine and sing in front of Bhagavathi. Sri Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar used to come to this temple every year without fail and render his kacheri in front of Devi.
Special poojas are observed on Tuesdays and Fridays on all months. The Koottu Payasam Vazhipadu at Uchcha pooja is very famous.
