Narasimha Jharni - Narasimha Jhira Cave Temple Bidar

Narasimha Jharni Temple, also known as Narasimha Jhira Cave Temple, is a Hindu Cave Temple located at Bidar in North Karnataka, India. The Primary deity worshipped here is Lord Narasimha, an incarnation of Lord Maha Vishnu. The main attraction of this temple is that this is excavated in a 300 m tunnel. This tunnel is located under the Manichoola hill range.

Visiting this temple will be a quite different experience to the devotees. Here devotees need to walk through this tunnel containing half of water to reach the sanctum sanctorum which houses two deities; Lord Narasimha and a Shiva Linga. There is a very little space inside the prayer hall. It can occupy only eight people at a time and others need to wait in the water for their turn. The water is very clear and adults carry kids into the temple on their shoulder as the water level is higher than the height of kids. This spring has never dried out.
