Mata Surkanda Devi Temple - Shakti Peetha in Uttarakhand

Mata Surkanda Devi Temple is one of the Shakti Peetha in Uttarakhand, India. The temple, originally knows as Sirkhanda Mata Temple, is located on a hill and one reaches there after a steep 2 km trek, from village Kaddukhal, on the Dhanaulti - Chamba road. 

Mata Surkanda Devi Temple is situated near Kanatal, in Saklana Range, Uttarakhand. This is the place where Goddess Sati's head fell when Lord Shiva was carrying her body.
