Mahanavami and its Importance
Maha Navami holds spiritual significance as the culmination of Goddess Durga's nine-day battle against the demon Mahishasur. According to the Indian calendar in the month of Ashwin on Navami of Shukla paksha Maha Navami is celebrated. And according to the English calendar in the month of September and October. In the year 2023 Maha Navami will be celebrated on Monday, 23rd October on this day devotee worships the Goddess in different forms. According to this ritual, nine young virgin girls are worshipped as nine forms of Goddess Durga. Navami Tithi is not considered ideal for auspicious tasks. This Tithi is more ideal to carry out strenuous tasks. War in any form can be undertaken in this period, the probability of victory increases. Similarly, any such tasks which need a lot of courage can be done on this Tithi.
