Laxmi is the consort to Lord Vishnu who is the sustaining force in this Universe. The name Laxmi comes from the sanskrit word ‘lak’ which is indicative of knowing one’s goal or objective. Goddess Lakshmi is visualized with four hands which signifies four important aspects of life - Righteousness, Wealth, Kama and Moksha. Lotus in the hands of Lakshmi symbolizes knowledge, self-realization and moksha (liberation).
