Festival Overview – Mahotsavam 2026

The 67th Annual Festival begins with Thrikodiyettam (Flag Hoisting) on Monday, 23 February 2026, and concludes with Thrikodiyirakkam on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.
The festival includes traditional temple rituals, Devi Mahatmya Parayanam, Thottam Pattu, cultural programs, annadanam, Villil Thookkam, and grand processions.


Key Rituals & Daily Worship

Devi ezhunnallathu procession through Pettah streets

Each festival day starts with Palli Unarthal, followed by Nada Thurappu and Nirmalya Darshanam, Mahaganapathi Homam, Usha Pooja, and special Devi poojas.
Daily highlights include:

  • Thottam Pattu & Sahasranama Japam

  • Devi Mahatmya & Narayaneeyam Parayanam

  • Maricham Shathru Samhara Pooja

  • Guruthi Pooja and Athazha Pooja

  • Deepa Aradhana and Community Annadanam
