Maniyath Sree Bhagavathi Temple Festival 2026
The annual festival of Maniyath Sree Bhagavathi Temple, Cherikkal, Pinarayi will be celebrated on March 20, 21, and 22, 2026 (Malayalam year 1201 Meenam 6, 7, and 8). The festival will be conducted with traditional rituals, homam, thira, vellattam, and cultural programs with the participation of devotees.
The temple committee has decided to celebrate the festival in a grand manner and all devotees are invited to attend with devotion.
Festival Beginning and Kodiyettam
The festival begins on March 20, 2026 with Kodiyettam and Kalavara Nirakkal procession. On the same day, special homams including Mrityunjaya Homam, Ganapathi Homam, and Dhananjaya Homam will be performed under the guidance of Brahman Vasudevan Namboodiripad.
Devotees who wish to perform homam can give their name and star at the temple office.
A music night program will also be conducted in the evening as part of the festival celebrations.
Second Day Programs
On March 21, 2026, various traditional rituals will be held including
Vellattam
Chuttuvilakku
Kainittam
Kalasham procession
Kazhcha varavu
Kuttichathan Vellattam
Ankakkaran Vellattam
During midnight, Thira rituals such as Bappooran Thira, Gulikan Thira, and Kuttishasthappan Thira will be performed, which are important parts of the temple festival.
Final Day Main Thira
On March 22, 2026, the main ritual of the festival will be held. The important event of the day is Thamburatti Thirumudi Nivarthal, which is considered the main Thira of the festival.
Special poojas, offerings, and prasada sadya will be arranged for devotees on the festival days.
Offerings and Devotee Participation
Devotees who wish to take Kazhcha, perform Vellattam, Thira, or offer garlands should register at the temple committee office in advance.
Special offerings and rituals will also be conducted on Sankramam days, Fridays, and special occasions.
Prasadam feast will be available on festival days for devotees.
