Vadakkadathukavu Adoor Sree Kirathamurthi Devi Nagaraja Temple Festival 2026
The Bhagavatha Sapthaham will begin on March 24, 2026 and continue for seven days with Bhagavatha parayanam, homam, kalasam, navakam, and special poojas. The yajna acharyan for the Sapthaham is Ajith Kottaram, Idukki. Devotees believe that Bhagavatha Sapthaham brings spiritual purification, peace, and prosperity to families and the temple.
On March 31, 2026, special cultural programs will be conducted from 7:30 PM onwards, including traditional folk songs and stage performance by Kollam Nattumozhi team. Such devotional and cultural programs are part of temple festival traditions and attract many devotees.
On April 1, 2026, the Pankuni Uthram Mahotsavam will be celebrated with grand rituals and temple ceremonies. From 3:00 PM onwards, there will be a grand Kettukazhcha, which is one of the main attractions of the festival. Padakkalam, Ezhunnallathu, and temple procession will also be held as part of the Mahotsavam.
Special rituals on the Mahotsavam day include Bhagavatha Parayanam, Kalasam, Navakam, Noorum Palum, and ceremonial procession. Devotees participate in large numbers to receive the blessings of Kirathamurthi Devi and Nagaraja.
The annual festival at Vadakkadathukavu temple is considered very auspicious, and participation in Sapthaham, Kettukazhcha, and Mahotsavam is believed to remove obstacles and bring prosperity and protection.
