Vellavil Sree Durga Devi Temple Thrikkarthika Mahotsavam 2026 – Bhagavatha Sapthaham and Festival

The annual Thrikkarthika Mahotsavam 2026 at Vellavil Sree Durga Devi Temple will be celebrated with devotion and traditional rituals from March 14 to March 23, 2026. The temple, located at Perur in Kollam district, is well known for its Durga Devi worship and annual festival that attracts devotees from different parts of Kerala.

As part of the celebrations, the 13th Sreemad Bhagavatha Sapthaham will be conducted from March 14 to March 20, 2026, including Bhagavatha Parayanam, spiritual discourses, special poojas, annadanam, and devotional programs. The festival will officially begin on March 13, 2026 at 6:00 PM with a ceremonial announcement procession, lighting of the Bhadradeepam, and formal inauguration.

The inaugural function will be led by the temple Thantri Brahmasree Narayanan Namboothiri, along with respected guests including Alexander Jacob, former Director General of Police, and spiritual speakers participating in the Sapthaham discourses. The Sapthaham Acharya will be Suresh Sharma, and rituals will also be guided by Ramanan Shanti.

During the festival days, devotees can participate by offering contributions such as rice, oil, vegetables, grocery items, annadanam, breakfast, and evening meals as part of their offerings. Those who wish to sponsor poojas, annadanam, or festival expenses are requested to contact the temple committee office in advance.
