Satyanarayan puja is organized every year by thousands of devotees. Families perform this puja to seek blessings for prosperity, happiness, good health, and success. Select an Auspicious Date
The first step in organizing Satyanarayan puja is to choose an auspicious date. The puja date should be chosen after consulting pandit ji.
Satyanarayan puja is often organized on Purnima, Ekadashi, Thursdays or any special occasion.
Choose Venue
After finalizing the date, it is important to choose a venue for puja. It is best to organize the puja at home, so that all the positive vibes and blessings purify the house. But, Satyanarayan puja can also be organized at function hall, temple or society/building compound area.
Send Invitations
Now it is time to create invitation card and send to your guests well in advance so that they can plan for coming to puja. Common items that are required during Satyanarayan puja are banana leaves, kalash, chowki, tulsi leaves, flowers, haldi, Kumkum, Panchamrit ingredients (milk, curd, honey, sugar), fruits, rice, water etc.
Clean and Decorate the Home/Venue
The venue of Satyanarayan puja should be cleaned and decorated with auspicious flowers, rangoli, lighting etc to create a peaceful and positive atmosphere.
Seating Arrangement
Seating arrangement should be done according to number of guests invited so that everyone gets place to sit at the puja. Floor seating with cushions is preferred during Satyanarayan puja. Sufficient chairs should also be kept for the elderly.
Prepare Prasad
The prasad should be prepared in sufficient quantity for all the bhakts. The main prasad for Satyanarayan puja are Sheera and Panchamrit. After the puja satvik meals can also be served to guests such as puri, aloo sabzi, dal, rice, kheer etc.
