Jyotisar Birthplace of Bhagavad Gita in Kurukshetra

Jyotisar is a historic and religious town situated in Kurukshetra, India. Jyotisar is famous site where Lord Krishna delivered Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna, one of the Pandava Brothers. It is believed that here Lord Sree Krishna under the holy banyan tree (vat) located here delivered the message of Bhagawadgita and showed his Virat Roop to Arjuna.

Light and Sound Show

Jyotisar was recently renovated by Kurukshetra Development Board and Light and Sound Show is constructed which highlights the story of Mahabharata and the main aspects of Geeta Saar.

Krishna Chariot 

There is a marble chariot depicting the image of Lord Krishna delivering Bhagavad Gita teachings to Arjuna.

Mango Shaped Lake

A holy water tank was built at Jyotisar hundreds of years ago. Currently, the tourism development board has renovated the site with a mango shaped lake to attract tourists. The area has been landscaped with flowering bushes and eucalyptus trees.

There is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

How to reach Jyotisar in Kurukshetra

Jyotisar town is located 5 km west of Thanesar, on the Kurukshetra - Pehowa road, in the Kurukshetra district of Haryana in India. Kurukshetra Railway Station or Kurukshetra Junction Railway Station, on main Delhi - Ambala Railway line, is the nearest railhead.
