Brihadeeswara Temple - Big Temple of Thanjavur Video Tour

Brihadeeswarar Temple, also known as Rajarajeswaram, is an ancient Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Tanjavur, Tamil Nadu. The temple is also known by the names Peruvudaiyaar Koil (Peruvudiayaar Temple), Periya Kovil, or Big Temple of Thanjavur. Brihadeeswarar Temple, built by the Great Indian King Raja Raja Chola in 11th century AD is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Great Living Chola Temples". The Big Temple of Thanjavur is considered as one of India's most prized architectural sites.

One of the unique features of the Brihadeeswarar Temple is that the temple tower of the 'Vimana' is among the tallest of its kind in the world. The entire temple structure is made out of hard granite stones.
