Vijaya Ganapati Form of Lord Ganesha

Vijaya Ganapati is the 14th among the 32 forms of Lord Ganesha. In Vijaya Ganapathi form the lord appear in a red hue with four hands sitting on the Mooshika Vahana (Rat) which depicted in proportionate size. On his main right hand holds his favorite fruit golden mango and the upper right hand the noose. On the main left hand holds his tusk and upper left hand an elephant goad. The word Vijaya means “the Victorious”.

Ashlesha Nakshatra or Ayilyam Nakshatra is related to Vijaya Ganapati. Worshipping this form is believed to give success for the devotees on all their ventures. Also there is popular belief that praying this form will provide instant relief from troubles.

Temples Where Vijaya Ganapati can be Worshipped

Vijaya Ganapati form of Lord Ganesh can be worshipped in the Ashtavinayak Temples in Pune, Maharashtara. Also temples in Chamarajanagar and Nanjangud in Mysore district of Karnataka have 32 forms of Ganapati sculptures. Pazhavangadi Ganapathi Temple in Trivandrum also has paintings of Vijaya Ganapati form of Ganesha.

English Translation of Vijaya Ganapati Mantra

“Ganapati the Victorious” riding a rat which trots at a smart pace. He has four arms. He is red in colour. His hands hold the single tusk, the elephant goad, the noose and the mango.
