Trimurti Temple Details

In the Prambanan Temple complex the shrine of Shiva is the tallest monument. The classical Indonesian art that can be seen in this construction is really spectacular in appearance. In the four rooms of the shrine, idols of Lord Shiva, Goddess Durga, Saint Agasthya and God Ganesha are sanctified separately. Goddess Durga is the wife of Siva whereas God Ganesha his son and Agastya Muni his teacher. Vishnu Temple is constructed north to Shiva temple and that of Brahma south to it. Both of these structures are with one room and in them respective idols are consecrated. Close to the shrine of Vishnu there lays the associate temple meant for Garuda. The idol here looks so attractive because the body feature of Garuda is the combination of human and bird. The Brahma temple is considered as the house of Ramayana story. In these three temples there are art works which represent the epic Ramayana.
