The Ashtalakshmi Temple in Chennai is a famous temple of Goddess Lakshmi located on the shorelines near the Elliot’s Beach of Besant Nagar in Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is one of the few temples in India, purely dedicated to Ashtalakshmi - the eight forms of the consort of Lord Vishnu. The uniqueness of Ashta Lakshmi Temple is that the sanctorums are constructed in Ashtanga vimana style (a multi-tier eight parts complex) with three floors, so that the devotees can visit all the shrines without stepping over any of the sanctorums. The temple has shrines for Sri Lakshmi Narayanan, Dasavatara, Guruvayurappan, Anjaneyar, Chakkaratalvar and Yoga Narasimhar, Padmanidhi and Dhanvantari. The temple was constructed on the wishes of the 69th Jagadguru in the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Swamigal.
