Garia Puja festival is an important and biggest festival celebrated in Tripura, India. This auspicious occasion takes place on the seventh day of the month of Boishakh. In 2024, Garia Puja will be celebrated on 21 April 2024.

Baba Garia puja is a three days festival held every year on the Bengali calendar month of Boishakh. Lord Garia - the deity of livestock and wealth is honored with a bamboo pole adorned with flowers and garlands. During Garia Puja festival, devotees offer chicken as a sacrificial ritual.
Garia Puja ceremony involves various elements such as cotton thread, rice, riccha, fowl chick, rice beer, wine, earthen pots, eggs, and wine. As per the long-standing tradition, a fowl is sacrificed in front of the deity, and its blood is scattered as an offering to seek the Lord's blessings.
Garia Carnival adheres to the guidelines set by the Ochai instructions. It is strictly prohibited to pass through the shadow of the revered deity Garia during the festival, as it may provoke his displeasure. As part of the Garia Festival, the young ones engage in drumming, singing, and dancing to pacify the divine presence of Lord Garia.
