Sri Shirdi Saibaba is a great Guru, and he can also be treated as a great saint and saviour, since he is considered as the incarnation of Lord Dattatreya, the combination of Trimurti.
Is Shirdi Sai Baba a Guru or God?
Some of the devotees would call him as “KADAVULE”, “BHAGAVANE”, “ANDAVANE”, which means god, due to their staunch bhakti on him. As per the life history of Saibaba, Sri Shirdi Saibaba must be considered only as a Guru, but, based on the significance of his previous avatars we can also consider him to be the “ WORSHIPFUL SAVIOR” and as the “BEST SAINT”, similar to the Saints like Kanchi Paramacharya, Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Guru Raghavendra Swamy.
Most of his devotees believe him to be an incarnation of Lord Dattatreya, since Sri Shirdi Saibaba has performed lot of miracles on their lives. Hence he can be described as a beloved Saint, worshipful guru and as the great divine person to his devotees, and as a popular Spiritual Advisor. Even after attaining Samadhi at Shirdi, he still lives in Shirdi by taking the divine form, and he used to visit all over the world, and would attend the urgent calls of his devotees!
During the time of our death bed, hearing the Mantras of Sri Shirdi Sainath is highly advisable. Sri Shirdi Saibaba acts as a mediator between us and god, and, hence, we would get a fearless and peaceful death. Worrying about our next birth is of no use, and we have to leave such types of worries under the lotus feet of Sri Sainath.
In a famous Hindi Bhakti song, Shirdi Sai Baba is described as the treasurer of Punya, since, whoever worships him sincerely, and does good activities, can avail some good Karma from the treasurer Saibaba. Our Guru would also recommend to the divine accountant Sri Chitra Gupta, to write off some of our bad karmas, when it was performed by us even without our knowledge.
Sri Shirdi Saibaba is the most unforgettable Saint, since he dwells on the souls of his devotees, and showers his abundant grace like the vast Ocean. Similar to the Holy River Ganges, he is cleansing our sins, gives food and quenches our thirst by creating rainfall even in the parched desert region. He is the Holy Guru Dattatreya, the Brave, prestigious, generous and courageous Sri Kabirdas, the great Saint Swamy Samarth, and also an aspect of Lord Shiva!
