Shri Shiva Temple of Muscat, Oman, also known as Shree Motishwar Mahadev Temple, is considered one of the oldest Hindu temples in the Persian Gulf region.

Shiva Temple in Muscat was constructed approximately 110 to 125 years ago by merchants from Gujarat. However, the main idol within the temple is believed to be around 400 years old. Prior to the construction of the temple by the Gujarati merchants, the idol was housed in a palace in Oman. The temple holds great significance for the Hindu community in Oman and attracts a considerable number of devotees. On weekdays, around 400 to 500 Hindu believers visit the temple, while the number increases to 2000 on weekends.

Deities Worshipped

Within the temple complex, there exist three distinct temples housing three unique idols. The primary temple is dedicated to Shri Adi Motishwar Mahadev. Additionally, there are two other temples, one dedicated to Shri Mothishwar Mahadev and the other to Lord Hanumanji.

Temple Timings

The Temple is open throughout the year from morning 5:30 am to 11:30 am and evening 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm from Sunday to Friday and on Saturday from morning 5:30 am to 11:30 am and evening 5:00pm to 10:00 pm.
