Mannarkkad Pooram Festival Palakkad Kerala

Mannarkkad Pooram, also spelled Mannarkad Pooram, is one of the famous Hindu festivals celebrated at Mannarkkad town (earlier known as Mannarghat), 40 km north-east of Palakkad, in Kerala, South India. Mannarkkad Pooram is an annual Hindu festival celebrated in the Malayalam month of Kumbham (February – March). This year, Mannarkkad Pooram Festival 2012 is on 7th March 2012, Wednesday. 

Mannarkkad Pooram Festival is conducted in front of Arakurussi Udayarkunnu Bhagavathy Temple in Mannarkkad, Palakkad. One of the major highlight of the Pooram festival is that the Adivasis from Attappadi Reserve Forest (Attappady) will reach the Udayar Kunnu Temple to worship the Goddess. Mannarkkad Pooram draws thousands of devotees from Palakkad and nearby districts.
