Nagula Chavithi Festival 2023 is on 17 November. Naga Chaturthi is an important day dedicated to Naga Devatas, the Serpent Gods of Hindus and Naga Pujas are held on temples to appease Nagas. Nagula Chavithi falls on the Karthik month (Karthika masam) on the fourth day after Diwali Festival.
The puja procedures and rituals of Naga Chaturthi differ from place to place. In some places Naga Devata idols are places in home and people perform pooja on this day. Devotees visit Snake Pit (Putta) and offer Naivedyam to the Snake Gods and perform Snake worship there.
Nag Panchami and Naga Sashti are observed after Naga Chaturthi. It must be noted Nagula Chavithi Festival is celebrated in Sravana month in some parts of Andhra Pradesh.

Nagula Chavithi Festival is more popular in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Nagula Chavithi ritual is observed by married women for the well being of their children.
