Kharna Fasting 2nd Day Chhath Puja

Kharna is the fast or upvaas taken by devotees on the second day of Chhath Puja festival. Devotees take a whole day fast without water. The fast is broken after performing the puja in the evening after sunset. People offer Rasiao-kheer, fruits, sweets, and puris to deities and then the “Prasad” is offered to all the family members. After taking the meal people again take a fasting which is usually broken on the 4th day morning only.
