Kamada Ekadashi falls on the 11th lunar day of the fortnight of waxing moon in the month of Chaitra. It is the first ekadashi after the Hindu New Year. This year in 2023, Kamada Ekadashi falls on April 1.
Devotees observe fasting on Kamada Ekadasi, visit Krishna temple, worship and chant Krishna mantras on this day. Kamada Ekadashi fasting is powerful enough to cleanse even the most heinous sin one can commit. It is belived that even Brahmahatya or Brahma Hatya papam can also be reduced by taking Kamada Ekadashi vrat correctly. Devotees break the fast next day after Hari Vasara is over.
