Significance of Dhanteras Puja during Diwali Festival 2023

Dhanteras Festival is associated to the worship of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Dhanvantari. On the day of Dhanteras, the “Owl” form of Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped to provide prosperity and well being. Business people give more importance to Dhan Trayodashi and most business communities begin their financial year on this day. In this year Dhanteras festival starts at 12:35 PM on November 10, 2023, and goes on until 1:57 PM on November 11, 2023.

According to Hindu Scriptures, Lord Dhanavantri, the physician of Hindu Gods, emerged from the ocean with “Amrit” on this day. Hence Dhanavantri Jayanti is celebrated on the day of Dhanteras.
