Kodunkundranathar Temple Piranmalai Sivagangai Tamilnadu

Kodunkundranathar Temple Piranmalai is a popular Shiva temple located at Tiruppathur in Sivagangai District of Tamil Nadu, India. The primary deity worshipped here is Lord Kodunkundranathar, a form of Lord Shiva along with his consort Goddess Kuyilamritanayaki, a form of Goddess Parvathi. 

The rays of Sun fall on the Lord continuously from the months of Aipasi to Panguni covering the English months October to April. Lord Shiva is a Swayambumurthi. Lord Shiva appears here in Love mood. Devotees carry milk pots to Lord Bhairava during the Chithirai festival in April-May.

The grand Bhrammotsavam is celebrated in the Tamil month of Chittirai. This is the main festival occasion in this temple that throngs a large crowd of devotees. Other festivals celebrated here are Kartikai Deepam, Arudra Darisanam, Vinayaka Chaturthi and Navarathri.

Piranmalai, located on the Ponnamaravathi road, is 65 km from Madurai. Kodunkundranathar Temple is located very near to the bus stop. Piranmalai is 24 km, north-west of Tirupathur, 58 km from Sivaganga and 194 km from Rameswaram.
