Neendoor Subrahmanya Swami Temple Kottayam Kerala

Neendoor Subrahmanya Swami Temple is an ancient Lord Muruga temple located in Kottayam District of Kerala. The temple is around 8 km south of Kottayam town. The significance of Neendoor Subrahmanya Swami Temple is that it is believed that Pandavas and the sage Vyasa worshipped at this temple. 

Lord Muruga is worshipped here in the form of Devasenapathi, an angry and furious mood after he had killed Tharakasuran. Here the Vel is pointed downwards. The sub-deities worshipped here are Lord Ganapathi, Lord Dhakshinamoorthi, Goddess Durga, Lord Nagaraja, Goddess Thooninmel Bhagavathi, Lord Ayyappa and Brahmarakshas.

Tuesdays are very important days, which draws many devotees. The Arattu festival is celebrated here is on Medashasti day. Six-day main festival in the month of April - May is celebrated here. Thaipooyam is another festival, which is celebrated here.
