Sukapuram Dakshinamoorthy Temple Edappal Malappuram

Sukapuram Dakshinamoorthy Temple (ശുകപുരം ശ്രീ ദക്ഷിണാമൂർത്തി ക്ഷേത്രം എടപ്പാൾ) in Sukapuram, Edappal, Malappuram is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Dakshinamoorthy (ദക്ഷിണാമൂർത്തി) form of Lord Siva. The temple is believed to have been established by the great Hindu Rishi Suka. 

The main shrine of the temple is Dakshinamoorthy God, an aspect of the Hindu god Shiva as a guru (teacher) of all types of knowledge. Sub deities worshipped here are Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi. The Temple nada opens at 5:15 am in the morning and closes after morning pooja at 10:30 am and in the evening at 5 pm and closes after evening pooja at 7:30 pm.

There is no festival celebrated in the temple on the belief that it would disturb the meditation of Lord. So the Dakshinamoorthy Temple Malappuram is also famous as a temple with no festival. Temple has online booking facilities for various poojas.
