Chelattubhagam Muruga Kavadi Procession 2026 – Grand Kavadi Ghoshayatra at Cherthala

A grand Kavadi Procession (Kavadi Ghoshayatra) organized by the Chelattubhagam Sree Muruga Kavadi Fund will be held on March 23, 2026 (Monday) in connection with the festival of Sree Annapoorneswari Temple. The colorful procession will begin at 4:00 PM from Thruchattukulam Sree Mahadevar Temple and proceed through the festival route with traditional performances and devotional programs.

The Kavadi procession will feature vibrant temple arts and percussion performances including Pamba Melam by Sandeep & Party (Vaikom), Shinkari Melam by Prana Kala Samithi, Cherthala, and energetic Kavadiyattam by Western Dance World, Kasaragod. Traditional folk performances such as Karakattam, Theyyam, and Flower Dance will be presented by Aiswarya Kala Samithi, Kottayam, adding cultural richness to the celebration. The procession will also include Band Set by Guinness Band, Vaikom and Kotta Kavadi Panchavadyam led by Lakshman & Party, making the event a grand musical and devotional spectacle.

This Kavadi Ghoshayatra is one of the major attractions of the Annapoorneswari Temple festival, drawing devotees and spectators from Cherthala and nearby regions.
