Kundamthadam Sree Muthappan Podikkalam Prathishta Dinam & Vellattam 2026
Sree Muthappan is worshipped as the visible God of Kali Yuga, and the rituals performed in Podikkalam are considered very powerful. Devotees attend the festival to seek blessings for health, prosperity, protection, and success in life. All devotees are invited to participate in the Prathishta anniversary celebrations and receive annaprasadam.
On April 21, 2026 (Tuesday), the festival will begin in the evening at 6:00 PM with Nada Thurakkal and Payamkutty ritual. After the opening ceremony, Bhajan Sandhya will be conducted under the leadership of Malabar Olayampadi group. Devotional songs and bhajans will create a spiritual atmosphere in the temple premises.
On April 22, 2026 (Wednesday), the main festival day will begin at 6:00 AM with Nada Thurakkal. At 10:00 AM, Malayirakkal ritual will be performed. At 12:00 PM, Sree Muthappan Purappadu will take place, which is one of the most important parts of the festival. During this ritual, the divine form of Muthappan appears in Vellattam, and devotees receive blessings directly.
At 1:00 PM, Utsava Sadya will be served to devotees as part of the festival. Annadanam during Muthappan festival is considered highly auspicious, and devotees participate with great devotion.
