The annual temple festival of Sree Purappillikkavu Temple will be celebrated with great devotion in March 2026 at Karumalloor near Aluva in Ernakulam district. The Thiruvutsavam 2026 will begin on March 15, 2026 (Meenam 1, 1201 Malayalam Era) with the traditional Kodiyettu ceremony, marking the start of the festival celebrations. The festival will continue for several days with special poojas, cultural programs, traditional rituals, and temple art performances conducted according to temple customs.

On the first day, Narayaneeya Parayanam will be held in the morning, followed by Kodiyettu in the evening and Mega Thiruvathira performed by NSS Vanitha Samajam, Karumalloor. Each festival day will include Ganapathi Homam, Abhishekam, special poojas, Sreebhoothabali, Uchapooja, and evening processions with traditional instruments such as Panchavadyam, Chendamelam, and Nadaswaram.

Important rituals during the festival include Kalamezhuthu and Pattu, Vilakku Ezhunnallippu, Deeparadhana, and night cultural programs performed by invited artists and temple groups. Grand Pooram style processions with caparisoned elephants, percussion ensembles, and temple rituals will be conducted on major days of the festival, attracting a large number of devotees from nearby regions.

The festival will conclude with the Arattu ceremony on March 22, 2026, with a grand procession accompanied by elephants, traditional percussion, and temple devotees proceeding to the riverbank for the sacred ritual bath, followed by Arattu Sadya and cultural programs. The Karumalloor Sree Purappillikkavu festival is known for its rich traditions, devotional atmosphere, and vibrant temple arts, making it one of the important local temple festivals in Ernakulam district.
